Miriam's Table Is Full Again
"Even a trip to the grocery store can feel overwhelming."
Miriam, an 83-year-old widow, lives alone in a small apartment in South Tel Aviv. With limited mobility and a modest pension, even a trip to the grocery store can feel overwhelming.
"Before I got onto one of C4i's 'Feed the Hungry' projects list, it was hard," she recalls. "I had to be very careful to make the money last, and it wasn't always enough. Sometimes neighbors would drop by with some food, but I was always worried I'd run out."
Being placed on the one of C4i's 'Feed the Hungry' project's Food Distribution Center list changed that. The twice-monthly food package deliveries, she says, are among the highlights of her month. "I love it when the volunteer arrives with my package," she said. "I don't worry about food anymore, and I'm also eating so much healthier and better now. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!"
