Six-year-old Guri from Be'er Sheva has been part of one of C4i's 'Children at Risk' Project's preschool for three years. She faces significant challenges, including severe visual impairment, an intellectual disability, and being a wheelchair user, but she is surrounded by a caring team who provide her with specialized therapies and support.
Each day, Guri spends time in her posterior stander, a piece of equipment that allows her to experience the simple yet profound act of standing upright. For Guri, this daily standing time is transformative. From this new vantage point, she sees her classroom and the world around her differently, standing tall with dignity alongside her peers.
Guri communicates through an eye-gaze tracking system, yet there is something unmistakably powerful about watching her stand. It represents strength, possibility, and the fundamental human experience of rising to meet each day. Her standing routine has become essential to her development, supporting not just her physical wellbeing but her sense of place and participation in her classroom.
