Dina's family immigrated from Ethiopia in 2005. As the youngest of nine children, she quickly fell behind in school and struggled deeply with insecurity, often withdrawing rather than engaging.
Through C4i-supported after-school programs, Dina received daily counseling, creative learning tools, and the kind of consistent encouragement she needed to believe in herself again.
The change has been profound. Today, Dina reads with confidence, initiates independent studies, and actively participates in class. The withdrawn child has become a joyful, engaged presence, someone her peers now look to as a symbol of hope and progress.
